v       Rated the Number 1 Nursing Home in the eight counties of Western New York   by the Buffalo News Special Report/Monday, December 10, 2001 edition.  The   

         Buffalo News, the largest daily newspaper in Western New York,  completed an in- 

        depth investigation lasting nearly a year of the 93 Nursing Homes in the Western New

        York area and ranked the facilities based on New York State Department of Health

         inspection records.  Briody Health Care Facility not only ranked number one, but was

        distinguished as being the oldest family run facility in the region and the only nursing

         home to use the family name as the name of the facility. 

v        Recipient of the prestigious United Way Top 30 Community Leader Campaign 

       Award for the 2004 campaign.

v      Voted People’s Choice for Adult Care by the people of Lockport, New York in the

       recent Union Sun and Journal newspaper contest.

v     Rated as an Elite Provider with a AAA rating by CareScout.  Featured in the book The Inside Guide to America’s Nursing Homes (www.CareScout.com

AFFILIATIONS 

v     Member of the New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA), Ann

      Briody Petock has had leadership roles including past president of the local district and

      is current Secretary/Treasurer of the State Board.

v     Briody Health Care Facility is a founding member on the Meals on Wheels Board of

      Directors and has served as the site for preparation of all specialized diets for the past

      34 years.

v    Members of the Briody family have served in leadership roles for the Zonta Club of

      Lockport, Rotary Club of Lockport, Niagara USA Chamber, Dale Association,

      Wyndam Lawn Home for Children and Eastern Niagara United Way.

v     Partnership with Hospice Niagara to provide services on an inpatient basis for those in

      need of these specialized services.

v     Member of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce.

v     Briody Health Care Facility hosts several clinical affiliations in the areas of Nursing,

       Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Certified

       Occupational Therapy Assistant and Diet Technician.  Students have done internships

       from local colleges including State University of New York at Buffalo, Niagara

       County Community College, Erie County Community College, Genessee

       Community College, Daemen College and Nazareth College.

v  James Briody and Ann Briody Petock have been appointed to the New York State

     Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.  Ann is currently serving her

     second term on the Board.

v Partner with IPRO, the Medicare Quality Improbverment Organization for New

    York State, participatingin a 3-year project focusing on clinical performance, culture

    change, and target setting.
